Hp2 Luggage

I used to have one on my HP2E......It would hold a five litre fuel can in each of the lobes aswell as expanding to hold the rest of your gear! I bought mine second hand off here for £190 or something and then they went to 'silly money'........!

Don't remember it being very waterproof though and I replaced it with the 29/35 litre Touratech Zega pannier system with the stainless luggage rack!

I've heard good reports with the 'Giant Loop' my German friends use on their KTM's

If you are using any of the throw over type make sure that it is not hanging over the rear rack/sub-frame as they can’t take the weight. Even if you upgrade to the steel one (http://www.archimedebikes.com/Index2.htm ) I still wouldn’t put too much on it without some extra support especially if you’re riding any sort of rough tracks. :thumb2

i just got a loop looks cool not like the gay thing you r looking at ....................................................

I've got the Holan racks on mine - means I can use full ADV panniers, soft bags or throwovers.

As John states, I'd be very careful of putting too much weight over the rear carrier as it's got a weight limit of 5kg and there are many documented cases of them being broken, mine included!

I think you should buy my Touratech luggage plate just to be extra safe!:D:P

I have neither an HP2 or any Giant Loop kit, but we were all impressed with the biggest version (basin? :nenau) that one of the customers had on his KTM690 on a trip.

It did seem to need some padding stuffed into it to keep shape when half empty, or it'd flap a bit, but it was really nicely made and very well designed.

If I was looking for soft luggage, I'd definitely look at the GL stuff and Kriega first and TT last.

Also worth looking at Wolfman :thumb2

Has anyone else got one of these? Or is the giant loop a better option for traveling? And money?

Thanks R.B

I have it on my HP2, bought it ages ago, .

If you are anywhere near London you are welcome to come along and see how it fits.

It is not waterproof, can fit two 5 lit plastic petrol cans. I have used on longer trips and on 3-4 day camping set up.

The top expands and the total volume is around 80 litres,

I can fit all my camping gear, slipping bag / mat, tools, one 5lit can, tent etc on the HP2 without a problem.

On my set up I use the rear rack to strap a lightweight tent so the pack fits on the seat only and doesn't push back, this limits the seating space you have available. Thats is plenty for me.. but you may find it restrictive..( I used an air hawk which just fits fine between bag and tank)

I like the look of the giant loop great basin too, but I think is not as big..
but it fits most bikes while the TT is designed to fit only the HP2..

The pack fits a lot of gear so depending how you pack may make the bike a bit top heavy which will make it not handle ideally off road but will take most of the stuff you need travelling..

I have Giant loop Coyote, it is very good for HP2, for long trip too. It is mine, in Tunisia last Year
