Hello all,
I have been talking a lot with Mr.Peppperl from the German
company Hpn, mostly about the new tank for the HP2.
But the other day, I asked him about getting the Fairing/tank/seat and windsreen from the Dakar BMW R900RR.
I just wanted to hear if it was possible to get hold on, its made by CFP, and the tanks are made by Ekamet.
He said that he would investigate it and get back to me, and he told me that there was some problems with it, even if the Frame/Engine is allmost the same.
For example did the R900RR not use fuel pump, which the HP2 does, and so on.
But he liked the idea !!
Is there anybody else, in here, that would be interessted
in the project, imagine to have a HP2, looking like the real
deal, please write any suggestions/ comments you have.

The frame mounted fairing from the RR would be a good enhancement for the Hp2; some decent windprotection, twin headlight (xenon), enough space for a roadbook ect...
Would be very nice if it woulf fit with their 23ltank, a complete new Tank/Seat/Fairing combination would be too much for me; I do not need 52l of fuel on board...

every body should play with their bicke how they think it should be
with as litel cost but as much love and time as poss

hi,
I´ve loved big rally bikes since on the 70´s i first watched dakar rally images. They developed for years being the grandparents of some of the most beautiful rally inspired big adv bikes ever created as the Africa Twin, the KTM950ADV, and so on. When the big bores were banned at dakar, a little part of the charm from our stock rally inspired trail bikes were lost. Now is time to have that rally evocation back on our daily commuting and adv riding bike as the HP2 is-

i just like to have wind protection, remove some weight from the steering, and have some instruments at sight (Zumo+stock cockpit+trip) i do not need road book.

I´ve chosen as inspiration the 2000 dakar version, which i like more than the "big duck" fairing from past editions.

I´ve been checking today at TT and they propose me several options they think could fit on the HP2. I have to check with their mechanic who has already installed many desiertos and X-ch setups. These are the options at first:

1. The X-challenge Rally setup. Looks like the clamps are attached to the steering frame, just bolted, no drilling or welding required.

2. The DESIERTO I fairing. which by the way looks almost exactly like the one the 900RR´s were mounting on 2000 dakar. maybe combined with the X-ch clamps.

OTHER OPTIONS:
are to build the clamps myself welding whatever needed and working on some allloy plates, to built the supporting frame,

and then try to fit some fairing FROM some stock rally looking bikes on the market. then to build some "connecting fiber panels" to fit with stock hp2 side panels or whatever big tank i finally install (TT, AQ, HPN)

THE FAIRING DONORS CANDIDATES ARE:
