Does anybody know if the airfilter on the sport is the same as the R1200S as i have a brand new BMC one and was woundering if i should stick hold of it or Flog it on Fleabay

Looks like they are differant, part numbers and $27 as against $112
Must be made of exotic go faster titanium and carbon fibre

Definately different. You can wash the HP2 ones OK

Air filters for the HP2S
HP2S and the R1200S are NOT the same!
The HP2S filter is really expensive, and if you service your bike at the dealers, they will change the filter - not wash it. (also according to BMW service manual)
I've had my HP2S in for service just reasently, and they changed the airfilter and said that the owner should wash and lubricate the filter, but they will change it every time!
I find this weird, when the filter is good for 25 000km but the service is every 10 000km.
But hey, that's the way BMW wants it!
