Uuhh...now i know! Why someone wouldn't get rid of his Adv the next day after he gets the HP2?Because there is still some fuel left in that tank :D

Hehe, it does sound bad, I will be filling them both up tonight and back on the HP tomorrow.

A bit of an update on my wobbly front end/

Setting the rear damper to soft and 10 clicks all round at the front sorted everything out, but for me the big change was softening the back :thumb

I do notice a bit of a wobble when I change gear at full power but I am not complaining - Kinda reminds me of my old Fireblade :D

Guys just done a 2400 km trip through Namibia all gravel/sand/rocks with my old R80GS. This proved quite difficult due to the sheer weight of the bike in the sandy sections to say the least

Swapped with one of the fellow riders who was on a KTM640 and he had a steering damper fitted. Turned that baby up and what a difference. I was so taken with the change with the damper set on or off that I am buying one ASAP and fitting it to my HP2. It certainly takes the worry out of your mind about the handlebars slapping voilently from side to side when you hit a sand patch unexpected. Certainly the use of it would be minimal on the island but if you accidently wandered off into the nasty stuff it is great to have :thumb2

As for the KTM 640, great bike if you willing to trailer it before your trip is over :augie :D

Friend of mine just ordered one from SA to fit on his 1200. AFAIK Scotts do the whole bolt on kit for the HP2 at $449  Why would you need the mount kit from Gorilla Zilla?

I have read on Advrider.com that the Scotts kit interferes with the steering...lock to lock.

There is another steering damper kit offered by a machinist on Advrider.com which solved that problem. Both Scotts and the machinists kits mount the Scotts damper below the handle bars...the Gorilla Zilla mounts the same damper above the bars.

The question I have...does this mount interfere with the steering?

Makes sense and personally would prefer it above the steering clamp, seen a picture on the Scott site fitted onto an HP2 but of course that won't give any indication of whether it interfere with the lock to lock issue. Maybe worth while giving the guys at Scott a ring or email to enquire about this :nenau

Its offered by Rbott on adv rider and it has a 1 inch riser block. Works very well on my Megamoto.

Hi Fixinbones,
Can I ask you what is the feeling now with the steering damper installed on your MM ?
Does the "wobbles" has disappeard at 'high' speed (160 kmh & more) ?
Can you give me the reasons why you installed it ?
Thank you,
