I tried to subscribe to post for sale but pay pal was down so will try again later....however I think (well actually have agreed and paid deposit on a 1200 GSA 12,000 miler 2007 cycle complete kit), The HP2 is truly awesome on and off road (bumpy track) its to me like 916 ducati performance and handling with hardcore knobbly tyres it is truly so good BUT when its raining with 800 miles to go and 135 miles to the next fuel stop its kind limited to full on day trip stuff out in the mountains.............I dunno having read the posts I am now thinking what am I doing, I'll try and strip the GSA down racks and pillion seat off to minimise bulk (forget my tummy) what does it perform like compared to an 1150 ?I had a 1150GSA which was fantastic all round machine as was the GS11 and GS100 before......So am I doing the right thing?
Well anyway once I get subscription done It'll be 4sale....HP2 stop me quick....or post if interested, its got the lot SM wheels, touratech protectors, two seats, 9300 miles...........

It does not compare at all complete different beast. Unfortunately if you can't live with some of the "restrictions" of the HP2 then it won't be the bike for you. I made my peace on the touring front that I am going to stop more to re-fuel and I carry less crap around with me which is not a bad thing :D

2 up long distance fast touring, definitely not the bike. Your all round ride slow see more touring bike it can't be beat - this is not even to mention the offroad capabilities should you wander down that muddy track :thumb2

I think there is very few HP2 ex-owners who can truly say they don't miss the bike. Most of them return eventually :blast

Indeed I am starting to quake with fear of loss before its even gone, the E'bay add is ready to go gulp.... I am nurturing a deal with a mate to buy short term lest I collapse and return to form....Dear Madam at home of course requires one in one out......I did tell her that I would next time get a lower BMW like her old 850R more lady friendly, not sure how a GSA will get under the low test limiter

The 1200GSA is a different animal to the 1150. It's a lot lighter, handles better, has more power and is pretty good off road. You'd be surprised where they go:augie

All my opinion of course but to me, the 1200GSA is the perfect do anything, go anywhere machine.:thumb

You are going to fail if you try it under your "low test limiter":blast I think she may notice how big the fecker is:D

I had the 1150 and then the 1200ADV ... the 1200 was a real leap from the 1150 in just being more sophisticated, refined, looks big but handles very nimbly and is very capable for its size and weight BUT... I have replaced it with an HP2 and was a good and the right move for me. I though do not ride with a pillion, use soft luggage, have adventurised it with screen, underseat tank etc etc. 50kg's lighter is HUGE in biking terms ... especially when you venture off tar. I realised this past weekend that there are places you can go with ease with the HP that the big pig would have just wallowed.

mmmmmmmmmmm cheque sent today to pay for the GSA12, HP2 sat outside at work, maybe hide one for a while and work it out.......ooh its really worrying me now....one thing I clearly remember when going full on for the HP2 its appeal was its minimalist nature, I always hankered after an old airhead 800 big tank and tiny lights, enduro guards etc..the HP2 seemed and is truly a modern variant in its minimalism yet ability is truly accomplished........I fitted a lower seat supposedly with gel insert...seems like a sliver of extra bumnummer.....that helps and a small screen off a honda hornet enables ability to hold on at 70mph plus......the only downside is two up which is kind of rare these days and range having run out of fuel several times due to wilderness trips and poor gas station spacing......whatever I'll just have to try the GSA and see if trimmed down as best I can achieve some comparable lifestyle? what is weight of GS12 vs weight HP2?

ALSO I guess one big downer in UK is the lack of decent offroad / track or trail routes of any significance where you can get into the wilderness and potter upon high on dirt tracks for miles.....so the poor old HP is lost for its real destination other than looking very cool and sophisticated in its un recognised exclusivity..........I did rather fancy it as a letter day scrambler circa 1960's isdt etc.....

Only reason I have it mate, call me a poser.......a cool looking like awesome poser with a great bike that is :D

Give the ADV a bash and see how you get on, might just be the bike for you never know until you tried. There is enough HP2's going about from time to time of guys who know that they better off with the "normal" GS.

We here in HP2 land don't hold grudges so will welcome you back any time :beerjug:

With a told you so clause of course :thumb2

You're ideally located for miles of off road fun.
North Wales has loads of trails.
Join one of our frequent rides there (see the Llangollen threads for a sample of the routes)

Indeed North Wales and mid wales riddled with beautiful tracks however I am perhaps misled to believe that vehicle access has been increasingly denied and I don't really want to get into conflict although it would be great to get up high...I have a liitle XR200R which would be fun to get out on little tracks where I would be reluctant to take the HP from risk of getting stuck or major scrapes, maybe best compromise is littel enduro and big GSA for long treks........(in my dreams)

Help, any ideas, my For Sale post in the for sale section seems to have gone away, has it been deleted, would the moderator advise me? I am a subscriber, Its not on E'bay although I may consider placing an ad there, erm it has a price, perhaps the jolly or flippant manner in which it is written has offended the sensibility and thus been taken off I don't know its a mystery.......

me.... i merged it with the other thread you had started.. which was moved to Non GS bikes and cars only only one FS&W ad is allowed at a time for one item

You've since started another which i've deleted... so that's four threads in total about selling your HP2:D including this one

I'll also close this one to keep it simple

if anyone is interested in capnsimo's bike it can be found HERE
