Actually I was wondering how many HP2's have been sold.
Would be also good to know the geographics as well.
I mean, where are these bikes popular.
Germany obviously would be the big sell point, but since my HP2 will arrive back in Aus shortly, I wonder how many I am likely to see on or off the road.

Beachman - I know you have one, you know any others? (that makes 2 of us and your in dodgy NSW!)

BlueSweeper - I know personally there were 5 in the UK, you have any inside info?;)

I asked a BMW staffer at Donnington and he said they had sold a total of 50 in two years in UK. Don't know if that includes the two batches that went to off-road school.

I also wonder if anyone has ever paid full list price for one?

I was thinking along similar lines. Do they still make the HP2 Enduro? Have we got a factory classics? I reckon HP2 owners must be special people... :D visionaries :hogroast :D

without a doubt the HP2 Enduro is a abit special as I'm sure all the HP series of bikes to follow. It's BM's M badge in bikes, I've tried the mega moto which was brilliant fun I own an Enduro which think is total scream and I'm sure the (boxer cup alike) New HP will be a really something.

as for numbers hard to say the dealer I use has sold lots, they bought all the ex school bikes and loads more and always seem to have one passing through. In total it's got to be less than 100 in the UK

I've been stopped in london by people asking me about the HP, which is really wierd and my answer is it's a wolf in wolfs clothing. I've had to re-learn riding skills I've not needed to use for years and it's just brilliant.

Is it a classic? without a doubt... YES!

shame mines all scratched and dented to sh1t:augie

hp2

hey karlz, yeah there is a couple in western australia. A few in sydney. One owned buy a farmer somewhere out of sydney and a few in queensland. I reckon the blokes that own hp2's are weird bastards who drink lots of red and like sex with chicks from 25 to 40. Probably works for themselves, farts in public and lives in the past with a firm grip on the future.

Ha! nice description of HP2 owners but I think my better half has a different view.. here is what she just emailed me...

".. I can assure them that hp2 owners are an eccentric bunch but they are
not bastards and they certainly don't fart in public - that delight is
reserved for sharing in private with their (long-suffering) wives...

Multi HP due in Italia!

Actually I was wondering how many HP2's have been sold.]

I know that BMW sold 500 HP2s in Italy in the first year of production.
I'm pretty sure that this is far more than they sold at home in Deutschland.
No idea why......
While I'm on, just had my first decent ride on my HP2 in 2 months of ownership. Nightmare flat battery scenarios finally cured (apparently) with change of starter motor. Apparently it was seizing up.....
I've bought an Odyssey anyway but haven't fitted it yet.

There are exceptions!

Will have sex with chicks 16-50 years old, hates red wine and prefers quality English cider or pure German/Belgian white beers, Cuban cigars, personality is more weird than you could possibly imagine, doesn't live in either the past or future but somewhere quite strange filled with loners and dreamers. They are freaks of nature in the bike world!

profiler

yes we are finnaly creating a profile on the hp2 rider. Seems my first opinions were off the mark, peering through windows will be in the beijing olympics so i supose its legal, cider is borderline "silence of the lambs" type. Yes the typical hp2 rider is a weird bastard and this is why they should all ride to a point on a map and meet. This has got way off the mark from the original topic.Guys is anyone interested in getting a hp2 tshirt done.It has to be stupid, rude and make no sense......I reckon we qualify.I will take two.

There are six HP2 owners in NZ - and before you ask, yes I know all of them :blast

Thailand. 7 and all sold at 17000 pound a peice.....:blast I just had to have one though......
