So I have a non paintable HPN tank and want some perforated tank graphics like the MX boys use.
I have contacted lots of companies but no one is interested because they don’t have the templates and aren’t interested in a one off.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a company that has the templates.

I can’t be the only person that wants graphics for these tanks!

Your tank is non paintable because the material it’s made from actually allows minute amounts of fuel vapour to permeate through to the outside surface. For this reason paint won’t stick for ever, nor will stickers. I’ve heard, but never experienced, that these tanks can be sealed from the inside. Maybe someone else know of a solution?

I have asked a guy I know Andy. I would give you his contact details but I dont have any for him except facebook messenger. If he does, ill put you in touch.

no joy from my end Andy. gian stichermann has about everything else airhead sticker related, but says there was never enough demand to template the 43L HPN. good luck.

sticker will NEVER stick, the only way is to seal the tank and the only process is to fluoride treat the inside of the tank, however not sure if that can be done after it has had petrol in the tank.
But if its not treated dont waste you time, I have safari tanks and tried every thing nothing will work

Tank decals

Same as this

He has my templates. They are all perforated so they don’t un-stick.
They are a bit of a pain to fit but look quite cool on.

If the tank is Nylon based plastic as the more recent ones are then the stickers will not come off, If the tank is polyethylene there are NO NO NO stickers that will stick, not unless the tank has been treated.
I have had the poly hpn tank on an airhead, I have the poly tanks on my ktm990 and have the nylon hpn tank on my R1100GS.

If the tank is poly, and untreated any money spent on sticker is a waste they will not stay put they WILL bubble.

I spoke to him, apparently he had a computer issue and lost the templates.
He would need to get hold of a tank to do the templates again.

The tank Andy has used to belong to me. It had stickers on it from a previous owner (albeit not huge) which were in no rush to come off, were not bubbled, and looked like they had been on there a long time. I think some of them were still on it when I sold it though I cant be 100% sure.

In which case it is the nylon based tank the same as my TT 45 ltr tank for the 1100GS or if it was poly it has already been treated, the stickers on my HPN poly tank lasted about 6 months before there were bubble under them,

The first 1100 Gs stickers used to bubble, BMW just used perforated sticker and didn’t change the tank material according to my dealer at the time.

Are all Touratech tanks made of the same material, do you know? I have a TT tank on my X Challenge and would love to get something to break up the all white blob!

The TT tank, actually Acerbis from memory, will take decals alright
How long they stay on depends on the quality of the decals. I’m not an expert so I’m not sure if it’s the glue or the actual decal material…

The TT tanks are made from Nylon based plastic and are non porous to petrol vapor.

Early HPN tanks are poly, later ones Nylon
