HUGGER-2012 GSa

Just to clarify, Austin. Do you mean it has a 'cleaner' look or isn't as dirty around the back end?

The latter, not as dirty around the back end, particularly the "splatter" that gets you and your pillions legs. The little mudguard IMHO does little else but splatter mud and muck all over the place.

I fitted a hugger first. It was clear that dirt was hitting (what I call) the rear shovel and flinging out of the gap to the hugger. I gaffa taped some plastic over the gap to confirm and indeed it and stopped a lot of muck. It looked horrible of course.

I removed the rear shovel (and gaffa tape) and dirt got thrown over the top box but bike was otherwise a lot cleaner. A number plate extender sorted the dirty top box issue. Rear shock was not especially clean and dirt was falling on top of the hugger.

Fitted a Mudsling and shock was now clean and hugger was also less dirty on top but I did not need both so removed the hugger. It made all of zero difference to bike cleanliness.

Conclusion - Remove the TUV shovel, fit a number plate extender and a Mudsling.
