I'm thinking of selling me G450x and 950SE and getting a husaberg FE 570 to replace both of them.

anyone got experience of the FE 570 ?

I've just this minute got off the phone with the guy who sold me his Husaberg 550.
He bought his 570 on a whim and actually tried to sell me his 570 to keep the 550.

He said he went out for a ride last weekend, trying each of the 'modes', got back to his car and laughed to himself, wondering why the feck he sold the 550 which he said had much better power delivery.:blast:blast

The old ones also much cheaper, parts easier to get, easier to work on etc etc.
I was out last week on my 550 with a mate on his 570, we didn't swop bikes so couldn't give you my thoughts....which would be bias towards the 550 anyway:D

Hmm not the answer I was expecting, I'm looking for something that sits between my Se and my 450.

Anyone got experience of the 690 R ?

570/690

Hi Dave,

I am lucky enough to have both a 690R and a 570 Berg - both great bikes.

The 690R is a fantastic all-rounder - lovely engine and only let down by it's size/weight on the real gnarly stuff - very capable bike. You get the bonus of the 2-year warranty and long service intervals as well.

The new Bergs are fab bikes - the 570 is a superb engine that will pull like a trials bike and go like the wind if you twist it, without being scary. Flicking it around the tight trails it feels like a 250.
The looks are great - makes all the other KTM/old Bergs seem very outdated.

Horses for courses as they say - if you want a true "dual sport" allrounder for longer trips ( See Timolgra's "Doorstep Adventure" thread in Ride Reports ) then the 690 is very hard to beat. For a fabulous dirt bike the new Berg is the best out there in my opinion. Is it three-grand better than a late model 550 - probably not, but if you can afford it then thats another choice for you to make! :D

Bottom line - if you were thinking if selling both your bikes for one then the 690R is the obvious choice.
Two bikes? Keep the SE and get rid of the crappy 450x for a 570 if you can afford it, swop it for a late model 550 Berg ( which is still IMHO far better than the G450x ) if the cash is tighter.

Hope I havn't confused you more!

Cheers, Rick.

Yes mate, I agree:thumb
One of the perfect allround bikes where offroading is the preference:)

You're right about the styling of the new 570, makes mine look like an 80's relic:D

Second hand Bergs are never going to fetch much, especially as a trade in......unless it's my old 450 which will be up for sale soon:augie

Keep the 450, we'll have a fairly even arena in Competa this year:whip..bring your dust mask:thumb
