Does anyone have any experience of plastic panels coated with this procedure, how durable ? , how good is the Finnish , or do i get them painted at a paint shop?

I've had some stuff done and it's heat resistant to a degree (rocker covers) but it won't stand up very well to stone chipping.

Thanks Florence, it was only going to be on new plastic , i don't know wether that will make it more or less resilient, i suppose it depends on how much lacquer they put on it after dipping.
still open minded that or go down getting them painted at a good body shop. i just fancied something different?

The refinishing is only as resilient as the clear coat applied over the top of it. In it's raw form (straight out of the tank) it can be scraped off with a fingernail. The clear coat (be it matt, satin or gloss) is what gives the coating is resilience so it's only as good as that. Essentially it's marginally less hard wearing than conventional metallic base coat paint (which can't be scratched off with a fingernail) with clear over the top.

If that doesn't make sense ... it's Christmas eve and I'm getting into the Christmas spirit :ChrisKelly

As tunneruk says its as tough as the paint system as that is what it basically is. My mate does it so I have seen a ton of the stuff getting done.

My son's company Liquid-Grafix does this at Widnes.

Some pretty amazing stuff comes out of there.
