I've come to conclusion that Bas not only understands the suspension, he also knows and understands the bike inside out

The bike is a bit unusual, because it uses a PDS swingarm arrangement (a la KTM) whereas most others use linkage -so you need to understand the bike too

I shall be going back and because I often carry luggage I think i will get the hydraulic preload adjuster added to mine.

As I previously mentioned he is only 4 hours from Calais.

Depending on where you are coming from, I still recon the Harwich/Hoek van Holland ferry is a good alternative to riding all the way via Calais. If you come on a day boat, you can get bike and rider 1 way for around £35, though paying the extra for the night boat is worth it in IMHO. My place is 30 mins from Hoek van Holland, and Hyperpro is about 45-50 mins.

Another option for northern folk would be Newcastle to Ijmuiden (NW of Amsterdam).

Give me a ferry crossing any day to avoid long motorway miles.

Personally Mike I would prefer 4 hours on the bike than 8 hours at sea.

Give me a 30 min train ride any day.

Obviously it depends where in the country you are as Folkestone is a long way down for some in the country. I'm just under 2 hours from either Folkestone or Harich.

Maybe I'll try it one day.

Yes, for you it doesn't make much sense.....but its a viable option for riders based up north.

A couple of pictures of my new xtank from Erik at Hot Rod welding.
I decided to not go for the usual black or white and went for the 'natural' look. It's still powder coated and IMO looks great.

I'll put up some more when I've fitted it back up.

You would need to contact Erik at hotrod welding as I bought mine with other stuff as a job lot so don't know the exact cost. Also mine was built and supplied bare metal and not powder coated.

I didn't go for the locking cap on mine so just had the standard screw on cap.
