Swapping the front fork springs on my 650 for hyperpro springs supplied by Touratech. come accross a few sticky bits, need help from the masses please

first, kit came with 1 litre of SAE 10 fork oil but haynes manual says we need 530 ml in each fork (I assume) and to use SAE 7.5. Hyperpro instructions says to fill up to 190mm but would that match the 530 ml? I thought I'd ask here before I try :nenau

second, which way round do the springs go, compressed end up or down?

any advice much appreciated!

compressed end goes to top of forks = sprung weight

un compressed end goes to bottom of forks = un sprung weight

universal rule of suspension :thumb

Just out of curiosity... have you replaced the oil seals whilst in there? If so did you use BM or alternative?

Reason i ask is that there are a few of 41mm seals out there but i've no idea as to whether the dimensions, other than internal diameter, are different?

They will be fine - i'm at 30k ish and am looking at doing the spring upgrade too. I was thinking whilst i had everything apart i may as well go the whole hog and do seals too. There's a few reports of better seals than the BM offerings though unfortunately none on our model of bike.

Safe travels,
