I'm looking into getting a new rear spring for my 09 650GS and have seen that Hyperpro are the main 'go to' spring

My question is, does the regular Hyperpro spring have a lowering effect when the bike is sat on? :nenau

I don't want to lower my bike, but I could do with a centimetre or two less height so I can plant my feet a little better when stopped at lights etc.

I've heard the progressive nature of the spring may make it softer at standstill (thus lowering the bike) & I'm keen to hear your comments to see if this is actually true

Thanks in advance

I've done the rear only (i'll get round to front eventually :augie) and i've not noticed any difference. However i'm probably on the lower quartile as far as tosser weight goes at about 10-11 stone so not sure if this has some effect... When i had both springs off, the Hyperpro was a few mm taller which was maybe to account for the progressive nature of the spring?

Good mod though - rear definitely steps out less on bends and tracks better overall.

Best,

S

Err, preload will have some effect on static height.
I don`t think that mine felt as though it dropped down after fitting, but who can say? As a compulsive fiddler I am always fiddling!
