just fitted one of these springs to the rear shock of my 03 ADV. The instructions suggested most shocks have the tighter coiled springs at the top of the shock but the only way i could get mine to fit was with the tighter coiled springs at the bottom, does this make a difference , have i missed something, the instructions i got were pretty vague and not model specific. Cheers in advance.

What you've done puts more of the weight at the unsprung end (ie on the wheel). Ideally you want to minimise the unsprung weight to improve suspension action. In practice - I'd be surprised if you could tell from riding the bike.

I fitted front and rear Hyperpro springs last weekend, I agree the instructions are a bit vague but i managed to get them to fit on fine, I really should have taken some phots but it was persisting it down and I just wanted to get them finished

If i remember right, I don't think i had any issues refitting the spring, are you sure you removed the collar etc?

me too fited with the tighter coiled springs at the bottom because the inner diameter of thw spring is smaller 0,1-0,2 mm .....no problem last six months with 5000klm

Had my rear spring fitted by MCT at Stowmarket after I found shock was leaking - they too fitted it that way round so name is upside down but they said it does fit better that way round - photos at http://www.thegrimrider.com/index3980.html?p=1_138

is it big diff to the bike

hyperpro progressive shock springs aint cheap htough but meant be good

not had chance to try it out yet but will let you know at the wkend, £78 from Motorworks, alot cheaper than a new shock

I run Hyperpro springs on my 1200GSA and they are great. Much firmer ride and more settled in corners especially when loaded.
