Trouble is which section to post in :nenau

Yes, I said hypothetical :augie.

So the HP2 and the 950SE I think boast the same seat height. I have found the X-C too high, especially with it's sitty-up behaviour.

Which one of the SE and the HP2 stands the best chance of being lowered and yet still perform ok? And by how much do you reckon?

I think I might end up with a 990 as they are lower, but wonder about the other two.

I don't think you will lose alot of the HP2's height, I just ride it as is from pavement to pavement :D

Go for something really low..........Harley Davidson perhaps  :augie

custom shock and springs from wilbers germany brilliant solution can be any height you want. there's a chap on here user name gx12r? met him once nice bloke his is lowered looks nice.

I did the decent thing bought the rally shock and springs for mine which i was told are the business only snag they are even taller...

I think it was lower than a GS it was noticable on SM wheels against mine which is nearly 80mm taller than a standard HP:blast

Was it considerably lowered, like 12GS height? I can manage that fine (albeit falling over frequently, obviously).

I have a 29" inside leg and have not problems on the HP2 just have to side off the seat a little, if you have a air shock you can run this a little under pressure as well.

I've got a spare air shock and springs if anyone needs them.

these where replacements under warranty before i swapped it out for the Wilbers set.

gosh.. seen this post way too late..

I got the lowered HP2,

yes I lowered front and rear, (Wilbers shock, progressive springs)

and its been great.. been on SM wheels for a while, commuting, touring and generally out and about

I initially used the bike with a bit lower pressure in the air shock but it is not supposed to be used like that, lowered shock is the best way to do it.

It must have similar seat hight to my 04 1200 GS although a lot easier to put the my foot down as the HP2 seat is narrower..

hope this helps

Technoflex

I got a technoflex rear shock, took it to firefox racing in kiethley.
they serviced it and took 10mm out of the strut hight, this gives 30mm at the seat, the bike still looks and rides the same as befor. hardly noticable and less to think about when looking for somewhere to stop.
