Well, I went to collect my Scooter after having its first MOT, before I left I had a mooch around the showroom and saw a mint R1250R Triple-Black with 400 miles on the clock; a deal was done.

Now I can’t say I got an amazing deal, but I’ve always been a soft negotiator, both buying and selling motorcycles, but have very fond memories of one of the only brand new bikes I’d ever owned a R1100R and hope I will be as pleased with my purchase of this new incarnation as with its predecessor.

Feeling the salesman had me on the ropes (trying to sweeten the deal) realising a first service would be fast approaching, I asked if they’d throw the cost of that in?

His response was that he would, but not being a BMW dealership this would affect the bike’s warranty..🤔

That’s a new one to me, but I’ll make a phone call to verify this..Hey-ho roll on the 🌞

Motorcycles and vans are exempt from the EU law that allows you to use non franchised mechanics to do your servicing for cars (providing parts meeting the manufacturers spec are used) and not effect the warranty.

I should have added enjoy your new bike! I had a go on one last year after having a 1150R years ago which I really liked. It's a nice bike to ride and much easier to handle at low speeds than the GS, especially if you're an old short arse like me but coming off a GS I struggled with the wind blast. Everything else was 👍👍👍

I bought a 2020 R1250R, it's a lovely bike and is plenty fast enough. I didn't think I'd go for an unfaired bike but first ride and I was smitten, now just need for spring to roll on...

Enjoy your new bike.
