I am an i-pod guru

Had trouble with my sons i-pod.

The hard drive was fecked. Apple wanted £130 to fix it.
So i delved into the interweb and digested and absorbed what the all knowing folks knew.
And they knew a lot.

So i purchased a 20 gig hard drive, and set about fixing.



The new bit. Cost £59.



Hands cleaned specially for the job




The broken bit.



The inside world of an i-pod, the technical bit thats all fecked has the blue edging, what we experts call a "drivey bit".



Pulled it out,



Stuck the high tech foam, and rubber surround on the new drivey part, and bob's your uncle



Then reformatted it , and as good as new.

He's got a new 30 jig i-pod.

This repaired one is now my spare. I've also bought another spare hard drivey bit, they're hard to find, and i'll hopefully now be ok for a few years

Maplins do replacement batteries for them now. you should have put one in there while it was in bits.

How easy was the case to get apart?
