Hi Tossers.

I know a few of you do some of this around Malton, Thirsk area and wondered if I could tag along.
I have a F800GS on Battlewings if that makes any difference.
I also have a KTM 250 EXC road registered (sorry for swearing).
I really want a go at Rutland Rigg?? but don't fancy having a go on me own for obvious reasons.

I'd be up for that sometime - need to be a weekend though.

I'm just north of York and heading up that way tomorrow as it happens. Maybe again Thursday if I'm not too knackered. You are welcome to tag along but I guess you might be working. :augie

C-M, there's a pretty healthy interest in off roading among the North Easterners. One or two (Johny Boxer, Hull Traily etc) have a sound knowledge of the trails round here and with a bit of warning are very willing to lead a ride.

We've had some grand day's out and look forward to loads more. keep an eye on the forum, can't be long before we're out again!

i'm not sure if he's into recycling things though...........

Cheers guys.
Its gonna have to be a weekend for me.
I will keep looking out for posts from others organising rides and see if I can tag onto them.
Not got the knowledge to lead one at the moment.

Saw some lads at Hawes a while back who said they had set off from Ripon.
I would love to do some stuff out that way but they was on much more focused off roaders than GSers so don't know if its possible?

now then
me and me brother have just come back from doing some lanes, starting near masham heading to pateley................got dark so had to call it a night!
i was on me 800gs and he's on an xr250.
some really good routes, the odd stream crossing and some fairly technical sections but managable on a gs takes some strength to hold it up though!!
will be doing them again shortly if you wanna join us let us know when your free!!

we'll also be doing a weekend trip from pateley to the Lake district, off roading from pateley through to hawes and on through to the lakes.
i'll let you know dates

hi all
me and a mate have started doing a bit of green laning (on dr350s much lighter) would love to tag along if any ones having a run through the week
were in the leeds area:thumb2

Nice pics Adam, looks like you had a good day. Weather was better for you than we had in the Lakes, very overcast.

Some nice lanes there, Ive fancied tagging along with you on one of your rides, but with a 800gs and very little off road skill (or courage:augie) and looking at some of those lanes, I dont know if I dare now:(

Richie

There was only a couple you would struggle on tbh chap. Can easily miss those out for a bigger bike run. :)
Gimmie a few more weeks to explore and I will jack something up suitable.
Gonna play in the Dales next time as I know there is some straight forward stuff there too.

As for the lack of skill/courage, spend a little, save a lot in the long run:

Did the part 1 off road with i2i some years back, What a great day:clap A1+++

But since then ridden too much ON road and not been able to use the new skills much until recently, when a KLX has taken me geen laning.

ey up all

gonna be going out this weekend with me brother.
we're looking at going from Leeds to the lakes greenlaning as much as possible.
when we get to the lakes we'll be camping (though if camping aint your thing you don't have to) and reversing the route the next day.

If any of you are free and wish to join us your more than welcome..........not too sure where in the lakes we'll finish up all depends on the lanes we find!!

Hope alls well

Elliott

keep any good routes as im listing them all around here:thumb

I too am off out for a play this weekend, on Saturday between Pately Bridge and Hawes. If one or two would like to join me.

Would I manage on a 800GS with road tyres?
What time was you planning on setting off from PB Adam?
I would need to come through from Hull you see.

Tbh I don't know on this route. It's not one I have ridden so it's a bit of a recce for me. I know from speaking to Funners who lives in Knaresborough that some of it is VERY easy, but I can't vouch for it all.
I aim to leave PB about 10:00.
