So after looking for a successor to my trusty Tenere 700 I settled on the F900GS and love it!

Most of it's use will be for commuting and on occasional one up tours. I basically wanted something with more performance than the Yamaha and still light to weave through traffic. I'm not bothered with a 1250/1300 as they're too heavy for my liking but of course great for 2 up touring etc.

So far mods have just been adding a link pipe and an SW Motech top box.

All good so far!

I can’t understand why the T7 didn’t fulfil your needs for commuting and the occasional one up tour. I’ve often thought about getting a T7 to use for tours because they seem so capable.

Toured on mine to Wales & Scotland, for 3-4 day trips
No issues with a decent seat
Wouldn’t hesitate to take it into Europe for 1-2 week trips in 2025

Christ...it's only October and we're already well into the 'sniping' season....:ROFLMAO:

Enjoy the new bike.
Chinese Parallel Twin Trev started it 😜

Wonder if hell change his forum name to the above ?

I probably got bored and just felt I needed something with a little more poke. They're excellent bikes and probably one of the best value for money bikes out there. I changed a few things on mine and can highly recommend them.

Hi There, how much of a difference did the link pipe make? Does yours have the Akro exhaust? Wondering what you think noise wise…

Welcome my friend! A lovely choice in my view, but I’m biased. FYI, I’ve come from a 790 Adventure R, which I loved, but KTM don’t inspire confidence for an upgrade right now, so back to BMW again!
