I can't believe it .. a bike less than one year old and the battery has failed

They aren`t all the same.

My 1200GS-A is 2 1/2 years old, 38k, lives outside and still on the original battery. It`s a little slow on these very cold days but no problems.

I`m happy with that and if it didn`t start tomorrow, I`d be a little annoyed but not too dissapointed with the life of the original.

I want what he's got :tears

btw .. bike just started fine after a good charge. Now left charger on the bike. Will probably do that for a while .. until the summer comes. :D

?

Mine has done near 85,000kms in 5 years, and is still on the original battery. Cranked a bit slower the other morning when I hadn't used it for a few days, but it was below freezing. Normal weeks see me on the bike doing a 80km round trip on a daily basis, so gets plenty use. I reckon it'll be harder to get me going tomorrow than the bike. I've enjoyed the week off

Picked up me brand new GSA in October, rode 60 mls home, :D:D, parked outside, went in for 5 mins, went out, non start:mad:.

Duff battery, it happens! phoned BMW assistance, guy came out the next morning, (at my request), fitted a new battery, (the technicians carry them now apparently), job done!:D:D

Life is like that, one day your the dog, the next your the tree!!!

I never had any cold winter start problems until I got this GSA. First time every time all winter though with my good old Triumph bikes.
If I have to ride this BUMW every day or keep it on a trickle charge just to make sure it has enough to start then that is a very backward step!
