We decided to build a garden room, well insulated, with good lighting, internet and a sink as a workshop for me and and a boost for our property given the growth in home working.
When I started marking out the ground (which was just grass, with a simple fence along the rear) I started finding bits of rubble and bricks, just below the topsoil. So I dug down and found out that at some point there had been a brick wall along the boundary, only a few feet tall, and some kind of animal shelter or pig pen. There were large sheets of metal, some 5 foot long, and thick beams for the structure. There was also a metal ground roller, a bucket, some plates, tin cans and half an old doll toy thing. Under one of the sheets I saw a wheel, and slowly dug up this scooter.
I've no idea how long it was there, I don't know what it is or where the rest of it is. The way it was all laying suggests to me that this scooter was put in the pig pen thing and the wall was bulldozed into and over the top. My wife and I were not happy with the junk and rubbish we had to clear out. There's a lot of clay in the ground and clearing it out took far too long.
Can you identify it? A scooter guy I know thinks it's a Lambretta, if so any idea what model or vintage? Also where do I look for the engine / frame numbers, if I can read them that is...

All the Lambrettas I've seen had the cylinder in-line with the crankcase; yours appears to be upright.

Edit: Clearly I'm not old enough 🙄

Some pics of the work...

That's a great heads up, thanks. Where do I find the engine frame numbers? I'm curious to know roughly how old it is...

Thank you, that site is just what I need, It certainly looks like this model.
