The sun was splitting the skies, i went into the shed and my R1 was sitting there, what the hell i thought she aint been out all year, on went the leathers and out for a blast, never got to the other side of town and there was a blue flashin light behind me. Here we go again, Helmet off and in the back of the car, i was givin a lecture about speeding, but yet i hadnt broke the speed limit, then he came out with "my number plate is to small" which i responded to its European size, To which he replied were not a European country, the last time i looked we was. Anyway i asked him the size it should be and he didnt know, had to go into the boot of the car to find out, and even then it wasnt the proper MOT size. He also said that it was a 3 point penalty for a small plate now. "That was news to me", ok officer i will change it. So i went straight to the local bike dealer who ordered me one, i went round to the place to pick it up, and on the way back to fit it, yip you guessed it. Another set of blue flashing lights, went through the same rigmarole again and i showed him the new plate and that i was going home to fit it, ok hes says, dont let me catch you again. off i went with a be in my bonnet, not a happy chappy.
With new number plate on, off i went again to Grantown for a wee run, on my way back i passed a couple of other bikers who gave me the thumbs down, so i slowed down and in a layby was the boys in blue, i thought it cant happen again, but sure enough yip they were behind me. By this time i was not very happy, £30 fine for having a race can on. Thats it the bike has to go.
Sold the bike on Monday, and bought a different sports bike, i have been running to and from Aberdeen to the ship all week, never stopped once, was it because i had a race replica, who knows.
