Had my 1150gs booked in at bath road motorcycles for the bevel box bearing and seal on the 9th of jan but now the hes has gone!.Washed and dryed the bike on christmas eve evening then on the 27th of dec started it to go out and it just stopped outside the garage as i shut the door it would not restart.Cracking from injector areas and rev counter needle doing a dance.
A mate has taken it to bath road for me and they are doing the work this week hopefully.
Using my 650 burgman exc till its back no screen blast is very very welcome.

Let that be a lesson to you never clean your bike!!!, sounds like hall sensor prob, shouldent be too expensive.

So, was this done with a jet wash & compressed air or a bucket of water & broom. I do the latter but occasionally use the compressed air to blow out the cylinder fins when it's cold at night.

Tank off twice a year, whether it needs it or not, cover it in gunk, have a cuppa, then kill it with the steam cleaner until I get fed up with it then put the tank back on and ride it until next time.

Here endeth the lesson:thumb2

I washed (bucket, sponge and brush) and ACF'ed mine about a month ago ready for the winter .....the alterntor belt snapped the following week and the Hall Sensor went on xmas eve :blast

All the same symptoms as yours with the crackling etc ......... Hall sensor 181 quid to add to the new Alternator Belt and just to top it off all the charging issues and battery draining has killed that too .... 82 quid

I am never washing it again although it did look fairly shiny for a bike that lives in the front garden and is ridden all year round every day :D

It's what sets the house alarm off when you forget to disarm it upon entry!:blast

Got the gs back after nearly 10 days away and it cost £459!!.bevel bearing done and new hall sensor fitted and a new pv belt.Plus after all that it came with a abs fault. But after all that time i sorted myself with a reset.
Things seem in a mess at bath road i know it was christmas but it was not what i was hoping for from them.
