I have lost a load of pictures!

I've never subscribed to or made use of any of those .......

Yeah I know
Well that's one way to find out how useful they are.

Recovering Photos on iPhone
    • Open the Photos app.
    • Tap Albums or swipe to find Utilities, then tap Recently Deleted.
    • Unlock the folder using Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
    • Tap Select, choose the photos you want back, and tap Recover. [1]

Recovering Photos on Android

    • Open the Google Photos app, go to Collections or Library, and tap Bin.
    • Open your phone's file manager app (like Files by Google or My Files), open the menu, and check the Trash folder.

I've only occasionally used my phone to take these types of pictures, instead I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ 30 mini camera from which I transfer the pictures to this lap top

I'm of the opinion that my somewhat aged lap top and in particular the pictures library facility has developed a glitch as other pictures have also gone missing

I'll search the laptop memory to see if I can recover any images

Thanks for your advice :)

Some people dont like sharing personal stuff on services such as google drive/photos
But in all honestly there is no other safe way, not without cost and hassle anyway.

You set it up and as soon as you take a photo next time your on wifi it uploads a copy to the cloud without you doing anything.

Your laptop might develop a fault as can any hard drive or USB stick etc.

Definately something you should consider going forward.

Top end new cameras have the same facility.
My Nikon uses my phones data allowance (or McDonalds wifi 😉) and copies stuff to the cloud (if i want it too)
Handy if your away for a few days and your filling up your SD card.

Take the laptop to the police station and say you think it belonged to either Gary Glitter, Rolf Harris, Jimmy Saville, or pick a peado of choice, they'll soon find any "lost" photos on there for you.
