all taxes are unjust to an extent but the property tax is so unfair. A person by hard work and thrift provides for his/her family a desent home. Anoither person dosent give a shite lives in a kip and ends up paying much less. The irorny is that the first person will probly pay up because they are law abideing while the waster wont or it will cost more to collect his tax. JJH

pay as you go road tax
boundle it into fuel tax
no collection by overpaid uncivil servents
gardai not having to check "for tax"
pensioners who only do a few local miles will not be punished by annual rates
people with multiple vehicles only pay for usage
no one skips road tax if fuel bought in the state

Phil,
fuel is one of the most taxed things in the state. Someone will know how much duty is added to a litre by the revenue before it hits the pumps, but it is in the order of 65%.
The whole thing is a joke and to top it all off, one of the brains behind our bail out programme has said they went about it the wrong way.
