If you're happy and you know it ...

Hear! hear!

I would like to think that the people having problems are the minority and in most cases BMW is handling the situation efficiently. Some people are falling thru the cracks of the system and I feel for them but overall experience seems to be very positive.

Last month, I had to commute from Hayes to Portsmouth for a couple of weeks and loved every mile of it (even in the torrential rain). The bike feels really planted and confidence inspiring.

Now I have the entertainment system attached as well, I seem to be using the cage less and less.

Omer.

Nice one..

good to see someone else happy with their 1200GS.... I'm on an 05, only done 2000miles, but no problems, and so far, over the moon with it....

awesome bike, no issues with it at all.... it's great....

I'll stick in a positive note too:

Bike just had 6k service, dealer happy to replace 2 parts (centre stand and timimg cover) with minor corrosion.
500 mile round trip this weekend (including 3 GS-able trails and a rocky ford) to a mate's house for a few beers and a curry.
All is bliss and harmony.....apart from maybe the seat..

Superb bike though: Eats miles and not many other bikes come past.....

Enjoy! :beerjug:

Awesome bike- and better and better every day 2600mls now:D

54 reg in speed yellow and just passed 5000 fun filled and trouble free miles, a lot of it two up with the kids who think its great, and without a doubt it's the best bike I have owned in 25 years as it is a real jack of all trades. ( Mostly Jap sports bikes before)

Public forums are a great source of information and as a newcomer to the world of the GS I have learnt a lot. However, as I have seen before on other forums, often those with issues air their views more than those who don't so its easy to get a distorted picture. Whilst it is good for us all to learn about any problems and subsequent fixes let us not get too focused on what has gone wrong and not see all that is right. Have I been lucky to date or have those who have experienced problems just been unlucky? I would guess the later. Good job Microsoft don't build bikes!!

Happy riding to you all.

:) :) :)

completely agree ktmmark. Just gets better and better. had the 6000 mile service last week and it is even lovelier.

All bikes (and cars) have their friday built models unfortunately but the vast (usually silent) majority of us know what a gem we've got. :thumb

I thought I'd miss my beloved 1150 so much.

I was wrong!

My 12 has been great right from the start. It's an 05 and I've already done 4500 fun packed miles and loved every minute.

It handles being full laden really well and pretty much anything you chuck at it really. It's smooth(ish), quick and handles well on and off road.

It's an ABS mdel with
• Handguards
• Philips brighter buld
• K&N air filter
• Heated grips
• TT crashbars
• Sedcem screen
and a few other TT goodies

I Like mine!

No probs with mine - really great bike, makes me smile just to look at - with riding the grin gets bigger and bigger. Just love it.:) :) :) :) 54 plate, blue, silver/grey, black.

Help!

Help! I've been drawn into a vicious circle. ...

I keep finding reasons to take mine out, and the more I ride it, the more I want to ride it and the more I ride it, the more I want to ride it and the more I ride it, the more I want to ride it and the more I ride it, the more I want to ride it and the more I ride it, the more I want to ride it and the more I ride it, the more I want to ride it and the more I ride it....

No, don't help!

I love it. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Despite the indicators (manual cancel switch & auto-cancelling) I really like my 1200GS. OK, I've only done 700 miles so far but after a near miss on Saturday, where I managed to avoid a car turning across my path (then stopped!!) as I was doing 80ish, I've got so much confidence in it's abilities and I do feel I'm riding much smoother than I was on my fazer or ducati that I had previously.

You'll have a great time on that great looking bike.

How are you getting on with the Remus? Does it fit with the panniers? Is it tooo noisy? Any fuelling problems?

I do fancy one for my b'day so advice welcome

Thanks Stoney,no problems when panniers are fitted,Bike runs spot on and not to noisey,Dont realy notice much difference with baffle in or out!So i keep it in,Then your on the right side of the law and insurance,Hope this helps you make up your mind,Cheers for now,Thomas.

We all love 'em don't we

I have had my 12gs for some time now and it is the best bike I have had. (been riding since 1970)
You have to ad some extras to make it perfect but that is mostly
to make it personal and to shine a bit

Dont love mine - think it's a Chelsea Tractor - wish I had bought a proper GS1150 Adventure. Sorry to P**s on your parade!!

I have had 1100,1150,and now 1200gs all great bikes,What did you have before the 1200,Cant understand anyone calling a 1200 gs a tractor,What do you not like about it?

Just about sums up a negative minority around here - not happy unless there's someone else's parade to p!ss on.

Robust views and constructive criticism - fine and very welcome. But someone actually being positive about their bike (a "proper" one or a 1200) - well, we can't have that can we?
