Fast, agile, and capable of long touring.

I don't know if its wise to trade a 1200gsa for one though

I've never ridden or even been pillion on a GSA so can't comment. Maybe I would be converted to one if I rode one.... but I doubt it

Yeah, I got one as a loaner just after they came out. Thought it was really nice but wasn't 100% sold at the time. Getting a bit bored with the GSA now and I'm selling my 450 EXC so would like something that can still do the daily 40 mile commute reasonably well but can also get me to far flung places and off road well when I get there. Problem I have with the GSA is she's just a bit too large and unwieldy for me to be confident taking her anywhere off road on my own.

SamD, if you've got your 800 perfectly set up for you, what screen do you have and what height are you?

I have the BMW Touring screen and I'm 5'10" - works well for me, although an even taller screen would clearly be better (but not better enough to bother changing)...
