As a new comer to the gs, i had only done a few miles on my bike bringing it back from the shop............
I went out yesterday for a proper play............its fab!!!!! I played all around the country lanes...........wow love the low down grunt it has got.....i only did 100 miles.............came back home with a big smile on me face......if it ever stops lashin down here i'm off to play later....................i'm smitten with me bike.................:D

I'm the same as you - I love it. I've had loads and loads of bikes and out of them all, the GS is the second bike out of the lot that I've actually got great pleasure from. I bought mine 4 years ago and it's the longest I've ever kept a bike for. And I still love it :thumb

i'm just so very impressed with me bike......it great at very low speeds...i even had a go alone the paths at the side of a couple of fields.........no hassle...........and they are very nibble round the corners, once i had got over the.... OMG how far over does this lean..........i'm turning into a gs saddo aint i...........................lol

6 Days into my GSA, 350 miles on the clock and I cant get enough - I know just how you feel :D - I rode this morning through torrential rain - the beast handles impeccably, the novelty of being able to lean a bike over at a reasonable angle with confidence and feedback on wet roads is still a novelty to me .

On the demo ride I took, when window shopping I had to do a full blown emergency stop in the wet    ( Numpty here was trying to find the fog light switch in traffic ) :nono :nono The bike stopped in a straight line, and even got its back wheel off the ground - hows that for confidence .....? Not an experience I want to repeat, but it is a hell of a competent bit of kit, have now got first HID's on it, the Wunderlich micros are on and the HID's for the Fogs are going on soon - Just have to get the horn swapped over for a NN special at the weekend and it will be sorted - Have fun :thumb

Is it brand new?? What made you choose a GSA over a GS or older 1150 GSA?? Just wondering as I am looking to buy but do not know which one??

Python I recently purchased an 1150se GSA in preference to a 1200, I thought the 1150 felt more planted and more substantial, less plastic flimsy bits and looked a million times better, that's only my opinion though, but I love the thing, I even had a guy on a 1200 admiring it, he'd not seen a white se before and thought it looked great....so that'll do fine for me....

Python,
Try both bikes first. I had a 1200 and now have an 1150GSA.
They are both great bikes, but differ in certain areas.
in my experience so far (which is limited on the GSA).
Handling: 1200 wins (but only slightly)
Transmission and gearbox: 1150 GSA wins hands down, much smoother and quieter.
Engine: 1200 faster but not so torquey or smooth at low revs, so for scratching the 1200, for normal use the 1150.
Looks: 1150 GSA wins for sure(1200 GSA getting close).
Riding psoition: Both are fine. 1200 feels more like you are sitting in the bike, GSA more like you are sitting on top of it.
Overall: the 1150 GSA feels a more solid bike.
My only advise if you go for a 1200 is avoid one with the Electric Servo Assisted brakes. Although there is no question they stop you well in an emergency, they have very little feel and make stopping a very jerky affair.
BMW have dropped them now and not without good reason.
Whichever you get I am sure you will enjoy riding and slagging off the other model :D

Cheers, Piggers
