I may have solved some of the gearbox issues

Adjusting the lever to fit the boots and pegs so that there is little «play» between foot and lever is akin to what I've been saying all along: put some preload up on the lever before shifting. It'll help a lot.

Improved my gear changes by going a little further with the adjustments and fitted the Wunderlich adjustable gear lever.
It's about 10mm shorter when adjusted fully in and as I wear road boots rather than adventure boots I have found that just getting this adjusted spot on has improved the gear changes greatly, now crisp and precise.
Couldn't leave it there as the Wunderlich gear lever needed an upgrade in my opinion and had a mate make a new insert that fitted the GS frame better.
Cheers
Jools

Original on left , new on right.
Also FYI the peg on the lever spins, this took a bit of getting used to.

Clutch and Gear Issues

Hi all,
Took my GS for it's run in service on Thursday. They have put a job sheet into BMW about how harsh it goes into first. By all accounts they are working on a fix possibly replacing the con rod, but it is not good enough really when you think how much these bikes cost. I am a fan of the GS without question just wished they would manufacture the parts themselves with the classic German Vorsprung durch Technik (Advancement through Technology).

You'll be after an Audi then:D

Better not let you chaps out on an Airhead then!

And I'll bet you all use the clutch when you change too!
