I my alarm broken

Hi

My alarm is acting strange.If i activate it and leave the bike overnight i dont get any blink when deactivating it.I do get the blink if i deactivate it with in an our or so.If i leave it over night the red lamp on the dashboard is blinking and when i press the remote it stops blinking but no blink om the turning signals.Is it supposed to act likte this?

I just set mine up to auto arm. You then de-arm it by turning on the igition. You then never have to mess about with the fob. One benefit of the BMW alarm.

The de arming funktion works the same way with or without fob.You can de arm it with the key or the fob but the thing is that the alarm is brand new and i just want to make sure that everything is as it is supposed to be.The manual is translated into swedish and the translation is not so good.For example..They have translated disturbed into the swedish word irriterad..The word irriterad means annoyed so i dont trust the manual.

It starts just fine.How to check the battery ? Two days ago i was riding for 3 hours if it wasnt charged before it must have been then...

The only way to test a sealed battery is a load test but what you describe most likely rules that out. However... it's the easiest of checks ( should be inexpensive too) & then you can rule it out. A load test uses an aparatus ( normally found in service/repair station) which basically is a heavy duty resistor on a heat sink with gauges. The time it takes for a fully charged battery to discharge across the fixed load is compared to the battery specifications.
Or....If you have a friend with a known good battery, give it a try.....

My point is Fred that the blinkers need amps to operate, if the supply is low they "may" be the highest load ? A simple battery check removes it from the fault finding list & then you progress to less simpler (more expensive) components....
Good luck..... other than my system also "beeps" on & off when alarming, I'm afraid I have no more advice to offer.
