I know it's a UK ship but yer man was a UK citizen at the time and naming the new ship after him might be a decent gesture by the UK govt? Especially given the centenary coming up?

Probably the finest Irishmen ever to have lived. Do go to see the play by Aidan Dooley, Tom Crean Antarctic Survivor it is well worth the effort.
