I need a Multi tool thingie

I've got a Leatherman 200 as well, but after several years of hard use it's sort of gone floppy...they do have a 25 year warranty but there's no way I'll be able to find the receipt :(

My old tool (and my favourite) was a Victorinox oine with a little set of screwdriver, torx and socket bits in the same leather pouch...that was a class multitool and probably what I'd replace this Leatherman with.

Bill you don't need the receipt, have a look here and theres a link to the Leatherman UK Warranty people

leatherman wave :thumb
Gerber multi tool:thumb
SOG :spitfire
Wenger Crunch :thumb looks like swiss army knife with a machette bolted on

Cool tool SO-so more for push bike riders but well engineered...

Or a good old fashioned swiss army knife and seperate tools in tool roll old fashioned but still effective.

I use SOG , your issue?

i've got a victorinox workchamp :ymca

Quite a good tool actually, Only downside is that the pliers are tiny compared to the letherman ones

I use SOG , your issue?

the one I had had side collapsing pliers, which floded in. Which when your cold and wet sitting at side of road trying to fix a flat, closed on my hand making a sh1t evening into a worse one. As I then stood there with a zig zag shape cut into my hand with blood streaming out... the now partly closed pliers had trapped my palm and fingers which made it like a mole grip:eek: could not let go of tyre with other hand so I was stuck... the pliers hinge acted like a cam put it all under tension... NICE!

corrrrghhh did I swear...

a couple of weeks later when the cut healed up abit and I'd forgotten that evening I was using them again and the pliers slipped off the thing I was gripping and I trapped some piece of palm in the handles which I was squeezing shut for all my worth. Pinched palm, blood blister which was burst there and then with the force.

Coorrrghhhhh did I swear then threw the fark things into a ditch carried a proper set of long nose pliers, set of cutters, mole grips, wrench and squared of pliers after that point.

All these multi tools are good but the all have faults... SOG was flipping dangerous.

what a totally useless piece of crap have never seen one since and bloody glad not to have either...

here's the evil fcuk to avoid!

Loads of stuff, virtually all i've ever needed...........now where did i put it:nenau

Go the Leatherman. I had a victorinox swiss army and the handles warped when I left it in my locked ute one summer day- it was a bit hot but still.
Leatherman also replace/repair out here for nix. Thats service!

Just got a little blue Leatherman Juice Cs2 to add to my collection :thumb2

The other day I found myself in need of a knife, a screwdriver, wire cutter, wire stripper and a pair of pliers. Needless to say, I had none of those things to hand and it was only the very kind Police officer being such a lovely chap that allowed me to continue on my way without contributing to Gordon (robbin' barsteward) Brown's coffers.

So, which of the myraid of multitools out there should I buy?
Is Leatherman still the one to have?
And are there bargains to be had?

ive had a leatherman wave for 12 years now its a little wobly but still going strong, id like to see any other multitool last that long without falling apart, i told my bos im sending my wave away for reconditioning n he bought me a gerber suspension tool, not a patch on the wave , i use mine every day n wen i dont have it am buggerd, a spoon duznt open a pozi screw very well, as always theres never a srewdriver handy wen ye wnt one.
so i add my reconmendation to the wave :thumb2

i use a leatherman crunch. folds up really compact, and has proper mole grips built in....
