I need an easy to erect good quality 1 Man tent. I'm 6' tall and like to sleep stretched out. Some space for bike jacket, helmet etc would be useful.

It doesn't need to be budget - I don't mind paying a bit more for quality.

I HAVE EDITED YOUR TITLE, TO HOPEFULLY MAKE IT EASIER FOR BODS TO OFFER ADVICE AND / OR FOR BODS TO MAYBE FIND THE ANSWER TO A SIMILAR QUESTION IN THE FUTURE.

PS It sometimes helps to say ‘Please’ when asking for assistance, no matter what the subject.

There’s hundreds of them that’ll meet that very loose specification. Suggest you get on-line and find some lists of top 10 tents and videos and narrow it fine that way. Then ask for experience of one or two you like the look of. Or even go into or phone a shop and ask a real person who knows their stuff.

I’d be looking at 2 man tents if you want space for putting stuff in it whilst you’re in there.
These guys do some great kit. I’ve an MSR Freelite 2 which is good for me, I’m 6’2”, and my rucksack etc. I do put my sleeping mat diagonally.

What weather do you need it to cope with? Seeing as you're in California i'd assume wet weather is not something you need to worry about too much?

MSR Elixer 2 is hard to beat. Mine has seen some extreme wind and rain and never let me down.

Assuming you really are in California as per your given location, I guess at least some of these UK centric tents, might not be available to you? Similarly, you’ll maybe have a range of tents in America, that are not known or available to people here.

Failing that, here’s just a few suggestions:

PS As with gloves. helmets and boots, everyman and his dog will have their favourite. Look at lots to find YOUR favouriite.

Slumit Cub - 2 man tent

As others have said - get a two man tent if you've got the space to carry one.
This one is a doddle to put up and take down...literally 2 mins to put up, and then peg down as required, about 5-6 minutes to take down from start to finish. Recently survived some hellish rain in mine in Ireland with no probs.

I have one of these and I find it very easy to pitch up and take down. ......we were in Italy last may when the weather was dreadful, and the tent performed really well......I am 6ft 5" tall and can stretch quite comfortably....

Thanks to every one and your opinions . Ill look into it all and see wat suits better

This. Have one and love it. I also have a three man Coleman for when camping with wife.

Hilleberg Allak 3.
I have one of these too, slightly bigger than the Rogen.

Why not just walk into your nearest REI store, have a look at what they’ve got on display and see what takes your fancy?

It’s got to be easier than asking a bunch of Brits then trying to find what they recommended :nenau

As mentioned above ... MSR are brilliant. I have a one man jobby so maybe too small for many on here but I take very little with me so it suits me fine.

Must’ve gotten one by now shirley? :nenau
