Help I do not know what to buy I have ridden my brother's GS adv and found it a bit too big for me, But I liked it. I have also ridden the standard GS both a new one and an 06 model. I will not be buying new but want full luggage including the correct top box. All the standard GS's I have looked at have had either no luggage or only the panniers. Do the dealers remove the panniers so that you have to buy them seperately and why are there very few with BMW top boxes. Is it all a cunning plan to make me spend more money? This sort of thing only seems to happen at BMW main dealers would I be better off trying to find one at another dealer. Or is the only way to buy second hand, and get full luggage to go for an adventure? Please help.
Cheers Glenn.

Expand your dealer search. It's worth travelling a few miles to get the right bike. You will find people doing big miles just to get the right servicing!

Subscribe to this site and have a look at bikes/boxes for sale.

Autotrader - Ebay other options.

I think you're right about the dealers: despite panniers being free on new bikes sold between May to Sep this year (and last year), there are very few (almost no) bikes being sold by dealers this year which have panniers included. What are they doing with them all..?

That said; I found a three month old GSA, with full panniers and top box at a Harley dealer of all places! Picking her up on Sat. Chuffed to bits!

Apparently the last owner just didnt gel with her and went back to a Harley. Understand where he is coming from; I've had GSs for the last seven years then got a GT in Dec, but back again now.

Was it the Harley dealer in Doncaster may I ask?

It was Harley World in Chesterfield. Very friendly bunch - I had a long wait and everyone in the dealer kept offering me cups of coffee and they even bought my lunch for me.

it is worth spending a morning phoning bike dealers such as bmw and harley and telling them what you want, what you want to pay as they don't want to hang onto bikes and companies such as harley etc get people to come in and buy the non harley bike. you may get a good deal this way but then still have to service it and do a few jobs yourself. however, this won't come with any used approved warranty.

a lot of owners also take the panniers off and either keep them for next bike or sell them privately as they will get more money back for them.

i have my 06 gsa with full panniers up for sale if interested?

Find the the GS you want and suggest that dealer knocks off £500 or throws in some panniers and rails (If GSA) .......can't see it being a problem....

also just looked on MCN "national" for a GS1200 and found 80 GSA's and 203 GS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats 283 bikes for sell on one site!!!..... should be able to find what you want methinks
