I need to recalibrate what I thought of the CRF300 after watching this video

What a great laugh this looks like with capable riders with obvious skills. I didnt think the CRF300 could be so much fun !

Episode 3 is out..

Had a very quick ride of a CRF300 yesterday with Rally Raid suspension up a lane in Derbyshire, seemed nice but needed a quickshifter :geek:.

I have the 300 Rally with Rally Raid suspension plus a few other mods. Probably one of the most fun/value for money bike I've owned.
I'm loving the above videos

Very skilled riders showing what can be done with these bikes ,like the adverts for the large adventure bikes shown with experts riding them while us mere mortals would soon hurt ourselves trying anything like that .

Yup, Adam Riemann is a fabulous rider. Been following him for a while .
Check out his Warhorse vids , where he bought an old Africa Twin in Norway and then rode it before restoring it and using it in Australia.

I wonder if the bikes Adam and the guys are riding have suspension mods, they don’t seem to “sag” much at all when the guys climb aboard and look as if they are taking some big hits without complaint from the riders.

Yes, I was wondering exactly the same thing on watching the latest episode. The rear looks much more controlled than a standard CRF300.

Looking at their website, you are correct..

All of our dirt bikes that you will ride are regularly replaced and are maintained to an excellent condition. The main bikes we use for our Enduro tours are the Honda CRF 250L, Honda CRF 300L enduro bikes that have all have vast upgraded modifications. We also have smaller Kawasaki KLX 125,140 and 150cc bike at our disposal.

We use mainly Honda CRF dirt bikes for several reasons. Firstly the bikes have enough power to handle every type of terrain you may come across whilst on tour. Whether you want to wheelie for km’s or climb seriously steep rocky inclines these bikes will deliver. Infact our Honda sponsored guide Manoch Abdulkaree has won the Asian Enduro Championship several times riding the modified Honda CRF 300cc bike.

They will have suspension mods, most likely a YSS shock and fork springs as these, as well as the CRF's are made in Thailand.
I also suspect they might have swopped out the inlet cam for one's from the CBR300 (more lift and duration) and running a foam air filter at the very least.
The Thai bikes have a different ecu to the ones supplied to UK models. No stringent Euro emission laws mean they don't have to run so very lean off idle which causes poor running at low speeds.
The single best mod for these bikes here in the UK is to ditch the standard suspension and fit a Rally Raid shock and fork kit.
