Hallo guys,
I just bought an R 1150 GSAdv. I previously owned an R 850 GS and realized that I would preffer the 850s seat on the 1150.
1. Could it be done ?
2. What modifications do I have to make?

Thanks in advance everyone for your time and concern !

As far as I know you just need the seat and the mountings, the frame attachments are there...

You will have to change the rear subframe to that of an 850/1100/1150GS to fit the seats.

You do not need to change the subframe - The subframe is mountings for all the seats are the same from the 1100 up to the 1150ADV models -

You need the two seats, seat brackets, seat lock, rear rack unit.

Why buy an ADV in the 1st place ?

Thank you all for the quick response. I 'll try to find the parts I need for the modification. I always loved this model but I couldn't find exactly the one I wanted, so now that it came up and my budget for a new bike was ready I went for it. The thing is that my wife mised her favourite seat so I figured that if the modification is easy to do, we would be both happy.
Thanks once again
John.

ADV's were originally speccable with the usual GS seat arrangement as i remember. Also low seat option was black only. I think that ADV and dealers owners were probably largely "colour sensitive" to the bits that made the ADV stand out as many have also become "Touralich" sensitive!

My personal opinion is that the seat was one of the weaker bits of an ADV as it was worse than the uncomfy standard:augie

yet strangely enough I find it the comfiest seat on any bike I've ever had...

go figure

Arses for courses:D

No two arses are the same. Best standard seat ever used by me is a KLT "comfort" seat. All seats should be interchangeable so we can take the best 'un with us:D:D
