Well I've done the deal and ordered a new white XR from Rainbow and I will pick it up on Friday. I was torn between the XR and the Multistrada but after having ridden both the XR just edges it. I loved the quickshifter on the XR and the smooth power was intoxicating. I also didn't notice any vibes that bothered me on the demonstrator, maybe they have fixed the issues. The Ducati was lovely but I found the lower gears a bit clunky but I would have been happy with either bike.

So what are the recommended modifications? Does it need any? I am getting the full luggage, inner bags, sports seat and crash bungs to start with but what else is worth doing? Has anyone been to Hilltop with one of these yet?

Congratulations, you won't regret it.

Mods I've done:

Full Akrapovic exhaust
HP seat/ levers/ rearsets/ engine protection
Powerbronze small sport screen - everyone seems to fit larger screens, but I've found that the screen is angled such that I have no turbulence issues with this screen at three figure speeds
Bar risers
Tail tidy
Wunderlich extended rear mudguard (you'll need this if you for a tail tidy)

I'll probably take it to Hilltop over the next few weeks, as it's quite lumpy low down since fitting the full system. There may be a BMW software update for this though, so I'll try that first.
