Thinking of getting one. Q
I i go for the Wifi version WITH the 3g How is the 3g bit paid for (i am assuming that it will not be free) Can it be linked into your normal phone contract ? or are these things a separate deal ?

Don't bother ...

... with 3G, just use your 3G phone as a hot-spot and tether your ipad to it; you then get to use your contract time on either device. It's what I'm using now as my flat in London has no broadband, works well for me :nenau

ps - The 'tether' is a wifi link and not a physical connection; any 12yr old can show you how it's done.

it depends on your phone contract whether you can tether without additional costs.

my contract doesn't include tethering, so my ipad has an o2 SIM that enables me to connect as and when i want on a daily basis @ £2.04 per day. don't use it - pay nothing.

AAMOI i've never used the 3G connection. ever.

i tend to just find wi-fi. the only reason i got a 3G model was for the GPS, which i have used, er, never :eek
