I test rode both bikes and it has to be said that the hondas engine outperforms the very underpowered GS in every way,the GS nearly makes up for it in other areas.I went on to buy a GS but sold it 6 weeks later and didn't lose a penny,very glad that I hadn't sold my RSV Mille.

Picked up my new 1000 on Thursday and tyres now nicely scrubbed in thanks to a 260 mile round trip to Skeggy..

It's only Bloody Fantastic compared to my old 1150GS and am looking forward to piling some miles on.

If anybody out there is considering changing from an 1150GS to a Fazer Thou just do it. Try out a demo by all means like I did and then you can really feel the difference.

It's much faster, smoother and strangely better on fuel, but that's probably due to me running it in.

Am now a very happy chappie except that I'm at work over the weekend ''

Almost certainly, the name being exceedingly rare, although obviously distantly - and I think I may even have met him once at a classic race meet at Pembrey...

The VFR guy I know quite well and he kept up reasonably, until we hit the real corners and a few bumps

I guess that should be taken as a compliment - in part at least!

Until that run I was beginning to despair about roads and traffic in England.

It's the rider, not the bike.

While some bikes are arguably nimbler than others, in most cases it is the rider who makes a difference.

Friend of mine rides an old type harley. He regularly puts sportsbike riders to shame. He told me once that it wasn't difficult, since they all showed serious deficiency in the ability to 'read the road'.
I'm not a great rider myself, but I have put several (semi-)sportsbikes to shame on my Diversion 900.

And speed is nice on a motorway, but who rides motorways?
