Went for a spin down past the metrolips of Embry, followed the coast to some lovely wild seaside bits, and then on to the mooseem of flight.
Had a dander round Concord.
Back up the road for a lovely fish sup on the shores o the Forth
Weather was absoloooootly gorjus.

And this is a Vulcan. The best noise in the world. I remember when they used to appear at Leuchars air show. A low pass then it would climb almost vertically, with that noise and the ground shaking .... It were great!!

Vulcan snap!

Nice pics. Strangely enough my day out involved an air museum and a Vulcan also. Took a run down to Carlisle via Eddleston, Yarrow, Langholm and Longtown. The Solway Air Museum at Carlisle Airport has a Vulcan which they open to the public. Boyhood dreams fulfilled! Getting into the first pilot's seat was a real palaver with the bike gear on so how they did it with fliying gear and an immersion suit must have been an entertainment in itself.

I was thinking more of the source of the story - was it something you heard in the spitfire pilot's mess after shooting down the Hun - or was it actually reported in a newspaper somewhere ?

The mental imagery will keep me going for a while though, thanks
