What have i done and how can i fix this . checked fuses all ok , have i blown a relay ?? i have checked them , when i lock the handle bars and turn key all way over i get side light . all help or ideas welcome . :blast:blast:blast:type

Sound like the alarm has sensed tampering.

You could try disconnecting the battery for while and then reconnect it to see if it will reset the alarm.

Dig out your alarm manual and work out how to reset it.

From what you say it doesn't look like a bike fault. But you could try removing the indicator control unit to see if that changes anything. Have you tried reconnecting the wires you cut.

i have reconnected the wires , what do you mean about the indicator unit??? Fuse?? or Relay ??

Indicator module, controls the indicators and if fitted hazard flashers. The module is in the fuse box.

If you think about it the condition you have created by cutting the indicator wires is the same condition as if you had a blown indicator bulb. However, the alarm probably uses the indicator lines to flash your indicators. I doubt removing the module will make much difference, but hey we are all clutching at straws here.

Well at the very least you need to reset your alarm. It thinks your stealing the bike. Visit the alarm web site and download the guide for resetting the alarm.

Better still remove the whole thing. Probably just a 30 min job and at least you have got rid of the damn thing. Too intelligent for its own benefit.

Have you got the alarm to stop yet ?

When the alarm goes off normally does it sound your horn and flash your headlights ?

When you arm the alarm does it chirp and flash the indicators ?

Did you cut the wires individually, ie brown first followed by black/tracer, or did you just chop through the loom, which would have shorted the two wires together?

It may be your actions have damaged the alarm, in which case you might need to contact the installer and tell them what you have done.

If you do have a faulty alarm, it will be really difficult trying to fix your problem with it connected to the parts of the bike your having problems with (ie lights and indicators)

I think you have hit the nail on head , there was just 2 wires and i cut them wrong and screw it up .:( as i have lost lights and indicators it is sounding like i need big time help .

Try just disconnecting the bike battery and leaving it overnight.

The alarm may have it's own internal battery, which may discharge overnight.

Nothing to loose.

Look at totally removing the alarm. Whats the name of it?

Its a DataTool Veto Evo . i do like the idea of alarm , and dont have the money it would take to pay a car spark tp remove . so might try disconnect it and reset itself . Ican but hope . I have the fitters page that came with alarm with wires and colours . would that help ??:blast:blast:blast:blast

Has it got an immobiliser, and has it immobilised your bike, if so you may have no choice but to track down where it connects to the bike and remove it, all be it temporarily until you can establish where the fault lies, bike or alarm.

I would go for the battery disconnection. From my experience, and as you only cut the indicator wires, you have not broken anything permanently. Get a brew, have a fag. If the wires are re-connected then a re-set of the alarm will rectify things.

i remember taking out a battery from the alarm unit , so if i take it out and disconnect from battery i might get a rest ???? all this info is great , another great reason for been a member .:thumb2:thumb2
