Went out for a short ride today on my 89, 883 and the feckin gear lever fell of as I accelerated out of a junction, then to add insult to injury when I got home the base gasket had gone on the front cylinder!
Last time I used it something in the master cylinder collapsed when I braked approaching a roundabout causing the front brake to lock on solid and my butt cheeks to nip up too!!!

I bought it off a mate who had, had her ten years an in all that time had only replaced a clutch cable, beginning to think its jinxed or I am:confused:

I had a Triumph Tiger Cub just the same, gave it to the Scouts as a field bike :blast

PS, I rode around the block and found my gear lever :D

Just wondering - not having a dig,
is it stored outside and not used much? :nenau

I found my lever too, was laid in the road so was lucky really, if it had gone into the long grass I never would have found it :)

No issues there, he's sorted all problems as they occurred and will do the base gasket, he's quite embarrassed about it tbh, these things happen but I seem to be having a run of bad luck with it at the moment.

Hope you get it sorted :thumb2

It's stored indoors (always been garaged) but its not used a lot.

Just wondered as i've come across odd problems with Bikes that aren't used regularly and stored outside or indoors with great heat variation - especially European and HD as they're often 'less refined' :augie than jap Bikes.
...This said as i noticed moss feckin' growing on my infirm Guzzi the other day! :( :blast :banghead:

I had wondered myself as whether the fact ti doesn't get much use was contributing to it's recent reliability problems:confused:
Anyway bits are on their way so it will soon be back in action and hopefully this will be the last drama for a wee while:)

This is Definitely the case with Guzzis - the best maintainance is to ride the buggers regularly.
