just think, without those lovely sticky out jugs in the way that could have been your leg. hope you're whole and bike easy fixed.
You can lubricate it manually now.

There is actually an emergency rubber cover to be used in case you crack the rocker cover.
Insurance have written the bike off as uneconomical for repair 
. I’m currently riding around on an Africa Twin courtesy of the other guys insurance (white van delivering Amazon parcels). Apparently I can have the bike back with the payout to allow me to rebuild it myself. Going to do a full restoration over the next few months and I’m looking at getting a Husky 701 sm or enduro as my daily bike and just use the Gs for touring.

What was the actual damage?
Apart from the left rocker cover which was smashed (probably saved my left leg from taking a hit) both front indicators are broken, the screen is broken, the silver trim on the left in front of the tank is broken, the handlebars are bent, the cover on the front brake master cylinder is scraped, the right hand rocker cover is scraped, the beak is scratched and there’s some scratches on the right hand side of the tank. So all in all not much in secondhand parts but the insurance like to use new and would want to respray the tank and beak.
As long as the frame is straight and the steering lock stops aren’t broken, that should be a really good deal for you to haggle over with the insurers. Just don’t let anyone remove it from your property...
I got my salvage R80GS (years ago...) for £175 and spent around £1700 getting parts from Motorworks and then paying someone to rebuild it. That included a new frame imported for me by Motorworks. The payout was the salvage plus £2700 so I pocketed £1000 and still got to sell the bike again 4yrs later for £1500.
