So, I've lost some music from i tunes due to having a replacement hard drive....:blast

But, all the music is on my i touch; so, is there a way of transferring all the music on the i touch back into i tunes?

When I select the sync option in i tunes when the i touch is connected, the message says that all the music on the i touch will be replaced by my i tunes library....ah, no thx.

Any ideas/actual solutions would be appreciated.....:thumb2

you need a program to access your iPod, and extract the music files. iTunes will not allow this.

what program you use depends on what computer you have. i have a mac, and use iRip.
any minute now there will be a host of people along giving recommendations :)

Free App

There is an App in the iTunes store called Discover that is free and they say it works with the ipod touch and looks like it might do what you want. Not tried it but is is free so worth a go:augie

I had a look @ a few programs...downloaded them, only to find they were trial only...option to buy was made available of course!!!

Has anybody downloaded a completely free one????

how much is your music worth?

When you connected the itouch with your computer on itunes did it not say transfer purchased items?

When I had similar problem all I had to do was connect my iphone back in and it said transfer purchased items and it put my music back on my computer.

But this only works if you have bought the music from itunes it didnt transfer my copied music from cds/downloads...

Good luck

And once done FFS copy the complete iTunes media file to another hard drive. Even better subscribe to iTunes match and it will back up all your music, including non itunes purchases, in the cloud, and you can access from any device anywhere at anytime. You'll never lose your music again.:beerjug:
