I want a city / town, not a street - How do I do it?

I may have asked this before but when setting a place name for a destination it always asks for a street when I only want the town / city as a place on a route ,is there anyway of bypassing this function.

I may have asked this before but when setting a place name for a destination it always asks for a street when I only want the town / city as a place on a route ,is there anyway of bypassing this function.

Where to, then just enter the name of the city in the search bar instead of where to>address.

If you want to search near somewhere press the blue bar that shows your current location and select from the options such as along my route, destination or a different town.
