I want Apple playlists for music and to manage route and hear directions. How do I connect my Sena SRL to the Nav 5/TFT/iphone?

I need help with the order for connecting my devices on my R1250GS please. I suspect this may have been discussed previously but I’ve trawled the threads and couldn’t readily find an answer. The thing I do most when riding is listen to music, closely followed by speed dialling, and both of these things I do via my Sena headset in my Shoei neotec II. But…. I want to get spoken instructions from the bike nav too. Whats the right order to connect everything to the nav and/or TFT please?

I would say, pair your Neotec (Sena) via Bluetooth to your phone.
Then, Nav 5 to your Neotec (Sena).
I'd imagine, if memory serves me right, both pairings should be done as a "Mobile Phone Pairing" from your Sena headset menu.
Should this work, you can then speed dial using Siri or hotkeys (on your helmet (sana integrated), and Listen/Control music, by using helmet (sena integrated) controls. The Nav 5 will then interrupt the music (just like a pillion request to communicate would) whilst giving you the instructions to follow.

Thank you. I’ll give that a go.

If that doesn't work, try pairing your Mobile phone to the Sat Nav/TFT screen, then pair your Sat Nav/TFT to your Sena/Shoei and finally disable any connection between your mobile phone and Sena/Shoei. That will mean that Navigation/Music/Phone Calls should all be controlled from your Sat Nav.

That's what I found works best on my system which is iPhone to Cardo to XT and I had tried many different alternatives. Hopefully you will get yours to work the way you wish.. (y)

The only way I can get this to work is to first pair my phone with the Nav unit. Then pair the SRL with the Nav unit. I first tried pairing the phone and the nav separately to the Sena and this doesn't work as well. You can stream music via the phone and hear it through the SRL but I haven't tried that when using the SRL to take directions to the headphones. However, I can use the Nav to dial out or make a call whilst taking directions. On intercom, I only use mesh as it's infinitely better than Bluetooth (assuming other riders are using the Sena/UCOMM mesh system). When not using the Nav, I just pair the phone with the Sena and on my bike without a Nav connected I use apple maps and what three words to direct me to a destination. Not bothered about visual nav, the apple system works well enough with just spoken directions and it's one less distraction. I have the option to charge the phone on the go if needed.

Hi I had your exact system many years ago follow the instructions below, if I remember I copied hundreds of my songs as mp3 onto an SD card and installed or added to the Nav 5 you can then play this through the nav. Last note always turn on SRL before ignition this allows the sequence to work as well as it can.
If I can some more advise, sell the Nav V and buy the Carpuride system ( search UTube) Apple car play, radio streaming and ever other option it’s the way forward
