I Want One.... BUT

Phone Russell at GS Heaven...they're based in Malaga and run a bunch of Spanish bought 1200GSA's.......he may well have a contact or some tips you may find of use.

You could also hire one of his 12GSA's to try out if you wanted :thumb2

Very good shep... very good

Only trouble is.... My F650 has now got spanish plates and the 1100S is in the process and both in Spain.

I need to Trade In to get the best deal.... hopefully I will get Spanish price for my steeds

Stuart

If you want to try one out i'm closer to you than Malaga over here at torrevieja you are welcome to try mine its a 2004 gs 1200,but i agree they are hell of a price here i bought mine in England and rode it back and will put it on spanish plates and is still cheaper than buying one here

Nob170..... Thanks for the offer .... that is very kind of you. I have actually sat on a 1200GS at Bemoto in Murcia. I was particularly interested in the GSA.... but they did not have one in.

The decision is made for a 1200....My only concern is the seat height on the GSA... hence the tryout soon. I hope.

I'm 5'10.5" but only 31" I/L .

I nearly shit myself when I tried out the K1200LT at Vines some years ago.... but still bought one... and that was 800 lbs plus if I remember.

So the GSA should be easy yeh:augie

If yer hearts in it, you will manage, i've a 29" inside leg and i've used a GSA for the last 14mths with a standard seat set in its low position without too much trouble but I recently fitted a low seat from a GS this has enabled me to get both feet down easily and that helps alot off road and on bad cambers. The bike felt like a totally different machine after I fitted it, but i've got used to it now and all is fine:thumb2

Shep

You have all sold me on the GSA..... I live in the "campo" in Spain where a lot of the roads are just dirt/gravel and some just mud. Although that was not my reason for favouring the GSA... I just love the looks... Its the Aluminium White for me.

Now I just need to sort my bike for P/X

Cheers all

Tried the GSA today with the GS's low seat.... Fantastic. both feet down and could flick it up from the side stand position quite easily.

Put the std seat back on and tried that.... Wooow.... hard to flick up because could not get my right foot down.... even though you would think that the left foot down =was all you needed... not so.:thumb2

So it will be the low seat.... but boy it looks thinly padded!!!:eek

Nuts :blast

It takes a while to break it in (or maybe you break in your arse, still not quite decided), but 200 miles is easy enough. I stick an Airhawk onto mine for anything over that, and since the bike's usually weighed down by luggage the wee bit of extra height doesn't matter.
