Does anyone know where I can get those sliver panels painted on the tank of a triple black in the Essex Suffolk area has anyone done it and did they do it matt or gloss TA!

I used a local BMW body shop to do my respray. Advantage was they can use matching BMW paint and it was quite reasonable.

mine are currently in for powder coating, if you want to hang on will post up a picture when done.:)

Gadget is there a benefit to powder coating to painting, I just thought you would only powder coat metal.

+1 for powder coating. When I get a chance, I'm going to get the tank panels and pannier/ top box lids done at the same time.:thumb Would be interested to see some pictures before I do it though.:beerjug:

Correct:thumb The plastics have to be painted but make sure they are primed properly.

Have you thought about getting them vinyl wrapped?

Perfect solution :) Cheap and easy to do with patience and the Mrs's hair dryer.

I use these people http://www.aerocoat.net/ always do a great job

Haven't a clue how much the tank panels will cost me yet, only dropped them off last week (bought a spare pair from ebay) Having a 'spare' pair of valve covers done as well:)

Picked mine up from Aerocoat today, see picture.:)
Went a lot better than my valve head covers..... which were destroyed by the process , I was warned it may happen, due to the magnesium content, on reflection I should have gone for paint, never mind, they were only scratched 'spares' from ebay.

It's quite durable but, you treat it more like a consumable. *When worn out add another coat or peel off and reapply. Benefit is that you can put the bike back to stock when selling. *There are versions of this that they now spray whole cars with. The Achilles heel is it is not terribly fond of petrol - a dousing will leave marks. But for a few quid you can try it for the look with a completely reversible process. *

If its easy to remove, I'll give that a go then.:beerjug:
