I was stuck in work until about 10:30 but then headed to the infamous pass.

Those roadworks are a pain, all the way from Stepps to Banknock, but I made it to the site for12:30.

I've never really looked around the area much but there are some interesting single track roads up into the hills. Went back to the visitor centre and discovered that Soldiers Leap was made famous by a Scot fighting for team W & M. Desperate to escape the Highlanders he made his now famous leap. I'd always thought that he leaped to his death rather than be taken prisoner but I was wrong. He jumped across the river gorge, some 18' and lived to tell the tale. Many others weren't such excellent athletes and fell into the fast moving waters of the Gary were I guess that 9 yards of heavy cloth plus a Claymore and shield, dirk and any other equipment quickly ensured that they drowned. Of course they may have been in English uniform but I doubt that would prove much of a bouyancy aid either, especially Bess.

A quick lunch of soup and a sandwich and it was home the scenic route. Tummel Bridge, Glen Lyon, Glen Lawyers(sp?), Killin, the Dukes Pass etc.

A few drops of rain a couple of times and some slightly damp roads on occasion didn't dampen the enthusiasm though a nearly knackered Heidi K60 on the rear made life entertaining as did the reduced stability under hard braking. Huge fun.

Below is the list of everyone else who remembered:-

:P:D

P.S. I've done a simple mod to the 1150 tank that seems to work. Almost 240 miles on one tank of fuel despite riding pretty hard on the return trip.

More later if anyones out there and interested.

Working yesterday. Glad you remembered.
When`s the next one?

27/7 went to team James at a cost of around 3,000 dead but there was another round at Dunkeld on the 21st August 1689. Team WaM took that one.
