I'm sure there will be a ride report in due course, most of this thread is bollox and banter ;)

Meanwhile, all day breakfast out of the wind at Laugarfell, a long way from nowhere.

Fantastic looking photos of the ride. Roll on next year :) Although I'm thinking that, given the terrain and river crossings, I'm not at all sure my limited riding skills are going to be up to taking the 1150GSA. Which reminds me, I should probably go and finish tarting up the old GS and get it sold to fund the TTR and build some skills for the trip over the winter.

That said, I've just been asked to go and spend a few days riding a helicopter around northern Iceland taking photos for a job. I'll be there at the end of this month. Should make me even more excited for next year.

FYI the North and North West were used to film GOT North of the wall scenes. Some massively impressive scenery up there coupled with expanse of moonscape wilderness.

Yep, I'll be doing photogrammetry to build computer models of the terrain for them. 3 of us, me in the helicopter and a couple of guys on the ground doing hi-res panoramas.

yes thanks for that Tim, bottle with gel in was duly taken back to the shop and thumbed in! if you follow my drift :blast

for the guys on about doing Iceland on a small bike mine was a DR350 with a small bag attached to the back as I travel light  it had a 16 litre tank on it but other wise all standard

Cheers Spud :aidan

Huge huge thanks to Mark and Tim for making this trip happen......first class support......excellent bunch of guys.......and so much cheaper than trying to get there myself by ferry.

Also thanks to Mitas Tyres for keeping me upright(most of the time), Enduristan Panniers for keeping my kit dry (all of the time) and BMW Motorrad for inventing the whole GS thingy!:thumb

I'm VERY interested: sent Tim a message via FB yesterday but will also send you a PM Mark.

You have to go ! I'm going next year.
Word to the wise: if you have the time go on their Morocco trip, it will set you up for Iceland.

I fully intend to go! Is it wrong I've already started writing a kit list?
